Connect to Wi-Fi at Viewpoint for iOS / iPadOS

These instructions are specific to devices running iOS or iPadOS, including Apple iPhone and iPad. If you need to select a different device type, click HERE.

1. Make sure your device is online

You will need an active network connection to proceed. This could be...
- Cellular data: an active cellular data connection (5G, LTE, 4G, etc)
- Wi-Fi off-campus: connect to any trusted wireless network (like your home Wi-Fi)
- Wi-Fi on-campus: select onboarding from the wireless network list (if your device is already connected to another network, that's OK too!)

2. Authenticate using your Viewpoint credentials

Launch Safari and open https://wifi.viewpoint.org
IMPORTANT!!! you MUST use Safari for this step.
(Due to security restrictions put in place by Apple, other browsers such as Chrome are not supported.)
Click the first button "Wi-Fi Onboarding for Apple, Windows & Other Devices"
Your device type should be automatically detected. Click the red "Sign In" button.
Enter your Viewpoint email and password and press NEXT.
(Employees-only) you may need to approve a push from Duo Mobile.

3. Install Configuration Files

Now that your credentials have been validated, we can begin the onboarding process.
Click the red JoinNow button.
A configuration profile will be pushed to your device. Press Allow.
You will be notified that the profile downloaded successfully.
Press Close.
Open the Settings app. You should see that a Profile has been downloaded and is ready for installation. Click on the "Profile Downloaded" line.
You will see a summary of the configuration file. Click Install...

... and press Install again...
If prompted, enter your device's PIN or passcode (used to unlock it).
... and one-more time, press Install.
Now the profile should be installed. Press Done in upper right.

4. Connect to "VPS" Wi-Fi on-campus

Congratulations your device enrollment is complete!
If you onboarded your device using cellular data or an off-campus network, your device will automatically connect to "VPS" the next time you are on campus.
We recommend you "forget" any unneeded networks such as "Viewpoint", "ViewpointGuest" and "onboarding" from the saved networks on your device. To do so, follow these steps:

Open Settings > Wi-Fi.
Click on the (i) button next to Onboarding:

Click Forget This Network so that your device does not try to use this network in the future.

Press Forget again.
Do this for each saved network you wish to forget.
Your device will automatically connect to the "VPS" network, indicated by the blue checkbox pictured here. (The "privacy warning" simply indicates the device will not use a randomized MAC address on this network.)
