These instructions are for Viewpoint students and employees who need to connect a personal device to a wireless network on campus. Wireless access can be set up while on campus or in advance of your arrival. Links to device-specific instructions with screenshots are provided below.
You will need different instructions if you are a guest parent, guest presenter, visiting coach, contractor, or substitute teacher. (Click HERE if that pertains to you.)
Connect to the "Viewpoint" Wi-Fi network
"Viewpoint" is our newest Wi-Fi network for students and employees and uses the latest wireless security standards. We will be gradually transitioning devices from the older VPS network to Viewpoint over time.
Viewpoint-owned devices will be configured or migrated automatically, so no action is normally required.
Personally-owned devices will need to complete a one-time setup before connecting to Viewpoint. Follow the instructions below for the type of device you are connecting:
- Apple macOS
- Apple iOS / iPadOS
- Android (Samsung, Google Pixel, Sony, etc)
- Microsoft Windows **
- Linux **
-
ChromeOS **
** IMPORTANT NOTE 8/24/2026: THESE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW ARE CURRENTLY BEING UPDATED... PLEASE TALK TO THE IT DEPT FOR LATEST STEPS:
Already connected to “VPS”?
The VPS Wi-Fi network is our previous employee and student network and is being slowly phased out. Devices that are already configured for VPS may continue to use it during the transition, and there is no need to immediately reconfigure a working device unless instructed to do so.
For new devices, or when setting up Wi-Fi again, please use the Viewpoint network whenever your device supports it.
If you have any issues connecting your device, please email helpdesk@viewpoint.org or call ext. 6105 for assistance.
